Christine Sun Kim
Artists Bio
Christine Sun Kim is an American sound artist who works in drawing, video and participatory performance to consider how sound operates in society. Kim’s minimal visual compositions often incorporate popular culture meme formats to offer clever, insightful commentary on her identities as a Korean American, deaf artist and mother. In 2013, the Museum of Modern Art selected Kim for its first sound art exhibition. A series of six of Kim’s large-format charcoal drawings was featured in the 2019 Whitney Biennial.
